Schofield Strategies Named 2013 Military Family Member Community Heartbeat Award Winner

Sponsored by the Military Spouse Business Association (MSBA) and recognizing outstanding Veteran and Military-Family owned businesses – the Red, White, & Blue Awards were created to recognize and honor the outstanding achievements of businesses run by veterans and military spouses.

(Maryland) – While maintaining her own low profile, military spouse, Amy Schofield makes it her mission to help business professionals get noticed and get hired. As a result of her resume writing expertise and dedication to superior customer service, Amy’s clients, ranging from to military spouses changing jobs due to relocation to veterans transitioning from active duty military to a civilian career, gain employment at an impressive rate. Amy keeps her finger on the pulse of the economy by helping her clients thrive in a challenging job market.

You can hear passion in her voice as Amy Schofield states, “I am honored to receive this award from the Military Spouse Business Association. I love what I do and I truly want all of my resume clients to succeed. Not only do I update/create professionally-written, eye-catching resumes, I try to provide my clients with the tools they need to succeed. I love working with retired veterans, transitioning military members, and military spouses who may not think they have the confidence it takes to create a resume and conduct a job search.”

Her husband, Jake, who is a Navy Test Pilot nominated Amy for this honor, writing, “I feel that she deserves to be recognized for her work both in our local community and the military community at large. Is there any more daunting task than sitting down to write your resume? It’s hard for anyone, but even more so for a military spouse who’s been out of the work force for a few years, or a transitioning military member who may have no experience job-hunting in the “real world”. Through her work, Amy has become a cornerstone of our neighborhood.”

“As her business has grown and as resume orders have continued to flow in, she’s had the opportunity to “pay it forward” by referring overflow clients to other military spouse-run businesses. Her caring spirit and business savvy have allowed her to mentor two other military spouses as they created their own resume-writing and virtual assistant businesses.”

About the Red, White, & Blue Awards

The Red, White, & Blue Awards were created to recognize and honor the outstanding achievements of businesses run by veterans and military spouses.  This was the inaugural year and the goal was to award six business grants, three to military-family owned businesses and three to veteran owned businesses. In addition, we want to help promote these businesses, not only within the military community, but also in the local communities these businesses help to support.
